If you don't know why this hat, that my brother and sister-in-law bought me at Dragon Con, is the BESTEST. BIRTHDAY. PRESENT. EVAH., then I really don't know how to help you.

Here is Mister Fusspot modeling my Jayne hat. Pretty cunning, don't you think?

He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne

Our Jayne saw the mudders' backs breakin'
He saw the mudders' lament
And he saw the magistrate takin'
Every dollar and leavin' five cents
So he said, "You can't do that to my people -"
He said, "You can't crush them under your heel!"
So Jayne strapped on his hat
And in 5 seconds flat
Stole everythin' Boss Higgins had to steal

He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they call Jayne

Now here is what separates heroes
From common folk like you and I
The man they call Jayne
He turned 'round his plane
And let that money hit sky
He dropped it onto our houses
He dropped it into our yards
The man they called Jayne
He stole away our pain
And headed out for the stars

He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man
And gave him what for
Our love for him now
Ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton
The man they callllllll - Jayne.

(Played today by Mister Fusspot.)

  • I love the picture of you - I think you should make it your new profile pic. It is oddly flattering. And I do mean odd. :-) The puppies are cute too.

  • Adam Baldwin came to Dragon*Con several years back, at the height of the Firefly frenzy. I think it was his first time at the con. He showed up for one of his panels (NOT a Firefly panel -- just a "chat with Adam" panel) and the crowd spontaneously broke into the Ballad of Jayne. I have never seen someone look so deer-in-headlights as he did right then. Hilarious.

    cheers,
    Phil

  • I heard about that, Phil. Wish like anything I'd been there to see it!
