Last Wednesday, I was blogging and the narrative required some random 80s band that hadn't been heard from in a while. For no compelling reason other than their creative use of umlauts, I picked Hüsker Dü. Then on Friday, my mother sends me the following e-mail:
This is from an article in USA TODAY regarding a benefits concert in Minneapolis: "One of the highlights was a reunion of former Husker Du bandmates Bob Mould and Grant Hart in their first on-stage pairing since Husker Du broke up 16 years ago.
"We've been offered whatever you can imagine to do (a reunion), but we did this for free," Hart told the Star Tribune. "
So, Hüsker Dü hasn't made a peep in 16 years, I mention 'em and onstage they go. I am either psychic or have far more influence in the music world than hitherto suspected. I should probably begin every blog post with either "When I win the lottery..." or "When my next song hits #1..."
Or, wait! I know! For a nominal fee, I shall include in every blog post the phrases "When [your name here] wins the lottery..." and/or "Until [your name here] hits #1...". Applications accepted by clicking on the "contact me" link above. Juan Pablo Montoya should be afraid. Very, very afraid.
MONTOYA DELENDA EST!
