Today is our head dog Sprocket's birthday! We bought him a new toy - it's a road-kill possum. The toy has a stuffed head/front paws/upper body, then a flat piece of fabric with tire tracks on it, and then a stuffed tail/back paws/lower body. Sprocket named him "Speedbump".

We had a birthday dinner for him too; we cooked the dogs their own steak, a bacon-wrapped filet, and doled out small morsels of that while we ate ours. After dinner, the humans had mini-cupcakes while it was Frosty Paws for the canine set.

Finnovar the cat wasn't neglected; he was given a gourmet beef dinner that I garnished with some of the bacon. He wanted neither cupcakes nor ice-cream, however, and lobbied to have more bacon for dessert.

All in all, I think Sprocket enjoyed his birthday celebration even though it was just the family. He's a good boy.
