Last Friday the lottery jackpot was up to $325 million, so I bought a couple of tickets. I don't buy lottery tickets on a regular basis, just sort of randomly when I get "A Feeling" or if I happen to be downstairs in the little store getting a soda or a water or something. But $325 million was enough to tempt me into making a special trip.
I didn't win.
Saturday I was outside talking to Tim, the man who does our landscaping. He didn't win, either, or else I'd have been mowing my own damn lawn. But here's the interesting part: Tim and I each matched two numbers, but more than that, we matched the same two - 17 and 54. We figured the odds of that have to be almost as huge as winning.
We'd rather have won.

I would rather have won too. Then all these supercars that I keep seeing as I work my way busily through the backseasons of Top Gear would be more in my reach. *drooooooool*
cheers,
Phil

Phil, I feel responsible since I got you into Top Gear. If I win $325 million in the lottery - hell, if I win half that much - I promise I will buy you a supercar.
I will need someone to race mine against, after all.

Excellent! I'd like an Aston Martin DBS, in Casino Royale grey, or a Ford GT in blue, or a Porsche Carrera GT in black.
Thanks! :)
cheers,
Phil

Cooly enough - or creepily enough, depending on your point of view - those are the EXACT colours we picked for those model cars for ourselves! Though Alan wants the DB9, not the DBS. Of course my first choice for a bitchin' supercar is going to be the Ferrari California, not that there's anything wrong with the Porsche GT...especially a black one...
