Happy Boxing Day!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! I did: Christmas Eve with Alan's family, Christmas Day with mine, lots of wonderful gifts, tasty treats, fun. Among other great gifts, I got a sleep shirt from Alan's mom that says "Careful, or you'll wind up in my blog!" and Guitar Hero II complete with the spiffy Gibson SG controller. It was a good Christmas for the pets, too; Santa Paws was very generous. Finnovar got a bottle of liquid catnip which you're supposed to spray on pillows or toys, but you guys know it was only a matter of time before I sprayed the dog, right?

I have more pictures from Christmas Day at my parents', but it seems that Alan didn't Flickrize them yet and I'm on a different computer - so no photo-illustrations, but my mom put on quite the spread, we hung out eating, drinking wine and watching football, so it was everything a Christmas should be, except that the Cowboys lost.

Speaking of, Fantasy Football finished up last night. I took third place and Leigh-Ann won our league. Go, Leigh-Ann! I'm very happy with 3rd place, particularly because I twice (TWICE!) forgot to set up my team - once even after Flippy and Alan sent me reminder e-mails, which takes a special kind of airheadedness.

Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to a couple of bands. The first band, Cowboy Mouth, won my lifelong devotion with their song, "Joe Strummer", about how the singer kicks his fun, hot and sex-ay girlfriend to the curb with nary a backward glance "because she didn't know who Joe Strummer was". I'd have done it, too, my man, I'd have done it too. Fortunately I didn't have to because Alan loves The Clash. We even played a couple of Clash songs at our wedding reception ("London Calling" and "Rudie Can't Fail). The other is an Athens band that Bo & Sarah told me about called The Dictatortots (don't you love that name? I do) and of particular interest is their scathingly funny and musically catchy song "Sorostitoot". You can hear both my new song picks on the respective bands' MySpace pages, which I've hyperlinked for your convenience.

  • Are The Dictatortots related to Japancakes? :-) I'm glad you had a good Christmas! We have to visit you soon so I can play video games again! And, plus, talk and stuff.

  • The Japancakes?!? That's great! And you are welcome to come play video games any time you like!

  • Congratulations on coming in third. I hate you, and I'm bitter.

  • The cowboys are SUPPOSED to lose. In MY Christmas, anyway.
    The chargers won.
    So there you go.

    (Up the blades, W adds)

And God bless us every one!

  • Thanks, Flippy. I knew I could count on you to be gracious in defeat.

M - ha - my brother is a HUGE fan of the Cowboys, but it's cool, I won't tell him you said that.
