I've been quite the neglectful blogger lately. What with one thing and another, we waited until quite late to do any Christmas shopping, so every night this week we've hit one or two stores. Then once we're home, I start wrapping. The wrapping is one part of the whole Christmas consumer exxttrravvagannzza that I truly enjoy. I like making neat packages with perfect ends, precisely centered, ruler-straight ribbons, co-ordinating bows and tags, and looking upon the pile of lovely gifts with satisfaction. That's so much more fun than the crowded-mall, overpriced crap, guessing-wrongly-the-taste-of-others part...
We both got to leave early today, so we did almost the last of the shopping, all of the wrapping I could do until the final shopping is complete and then I was gonna blog, which I started but a second ago my sweetie walked through complaining of wanting Chinese food, and so I must indulge him, regardless of how I feel about the matter. (Yeah, right. I need me some pot-stickers!)
More later - plus pics of the loveliest best-wrapped package I ever created. It's for my brother Bo and his wife Sarah.

I wish you could come here and do all my wrapping. It's my least favorite part because I'm so bad at it. Or possibly vice versa. I can't seem to cut a straight line or tape a tight corner to save my life, but I really admire those who can.

Helly, you're such a girl. Apparently, I also have the curse of the Nancys. I can't cut straight either. Leigh-Ann does most of the wrapping. I'm more, uh, careless. No, carefree!

Nancy, perhaps we could work out something here. If you do the shopping part for me, I'll do the wrapping part for you. I'll even spring for materials!
Flippy, yes, I am SUCH a girly-girl, despite the love of hockey and Formula 1. I feel this strange urge to go to the crafts store...

I have urges to go the craft store, buy something cool to make, and then not follow through. We have some really amazing crafty equipment here (the dye-sub stuff, the mug press, the t-shirt press, the blasting cabinet), plus I have silver metal clay. I have visions of lovely jewelry that I'm going to make, but I don't do it. I really need to get organized. We also have things we want to make for our Stray Pride site. Okay, I guess I have some New Year's resolutions, huh? :)

Well, yeah, Flippy - that's what I meant. I took the "and then not follow through" part as a given.
