Guitar Hero Mom
My mom plays Guitar Hero. She was playing "Smoke on the Water".
My digital camera gets in these moods, which seem unrelated to fresh batteries vs. low batteries, where after I press the button to take the picture, it will take my request under advisement, put it on the ol' camera agenda, ponder it for a while and several seconds later, deign to capture the photo.
What this has to do with Mom's foray into video gaming is that she kept getting this very cute look of intense concentration on her face and I wanted quite badly to take a picture of it, but every time she made the face and I took the picture, the camera waited until she was doing something else, like making a "dang, I missed a note" face instead, to photograph. This is the closest I got to capturing the "I'm concentrating!" expression, which isn't as cute as some of the faces she made, but anyway...

That's a very cute concentration face!! Wish I coulda been there. I would have been grabbing it out of her hands, though, and shrieking "mine!"

You guys should come over some weekend for nothing but video game playing, snack eating, wine drinking and smack talking. My brother and I do that from time to time (well, with beer instead of wine because, y'know, he's a guy) and I highly recommend it.

After reading about the Nintendo wii or WII or Wii (I'm old, I don't know the vernacular), I really want one. It sounds like it's the back to the basics stuff that I love. I don't want to hit a 5-button combo in order to carjack someone. I want to wave my magic carjacking wand. Actually, what I want it for is to play MarioKart.
Is Guitar Hero easy? Like in easy to figure out, not necessarily easy to win? I like simplicity.
And Thanksgiving - good? Also, congrats on your win, excellent considering poor Rex was at minus five. I need to send out another reminder, we have Thursday games again this week.

It's very easy to get the gist of what you're supposed to do. One very positive component of the game is that the songs are a mix of easy/fun and challenging. There are also 4 different levels of difficulty for each song.
Thanksgiving was good - over too soon.
Thanks about the win! I tell you, I'd nearly given up hope by the 3rd interception. Rex either scores me mega-points or negative, no in between.
