If I've never happened to mention it, I love this SNL skit (explicit lyrics). I watch it over and over; it doesn't get old or any less funny to me. I love how Justin and Andy look so 80s or as Alan puts it, 'so Color Me Badd'. Back around the time it first aired, I had mentioned it to Bo and Sarah who had not seen it, though they have since. I was trying to tell them how funny it was but then threw caution (and pride) to the winds and serenaded Sarah with the song - as much as I could remember, anyway - complete with choreography. I think it was effective even though I technically don't have any junk to put in the box, because I included pelvic motions. :-)
Yesterday we gathered at mom's to grill out: peppercorn pork loin, brats and portobello mushrooms. Grilled portobellos are my new food obsession. Alan marinates them for a bit before grilling and they are yummy. Once we move (our new mantra for solving/sorting out everything in our lives, it seems) getting a nice gas grill is a top priority. Alan loves grilling as much as my dad, and there are some things, like the brats and mushrooms, that taste so much more wonderful grilled than any other way - there's no way to replicate it with a saucepan and an oven.
Bo and Sarah came too, bearing wine and gifts. Sarah's been working at Hot Topic lately and she saw something there she knew I'd love. Bo came out wearing (in addition to his shorts) a small Whole Foods tote bag in his crotch area, singing a certain song. The bag contained a gift for me. They got me this t-shirt! BWAHAHAHA! My delight in the D-I-A-B t-shirt is without compare, although I'm pretty happy at being thirty-lots and still wearing clothes from Hot Topic.
We had a great time just hanging out, snacking, drinking wine and chatting. I want very much to visit them in Greenville which would appear do-able as a quick weekend getaway since Alan is off every Monday but so far everyone's schedules haven't meshed. I really want to get up there, see their apartment, try the cool new restaurants they've discovered, etc. And now I have something to wear!
