I wish I had something interesting or funny about which to write. I don’t. You have been warned.
I think lack of sleep negatively affects my creativity. I haven’t been sleeping well lately. Typically, on weekdays I go to bed between 10:15 and 10:45, read a bit (anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours), don’t have any significant difficulty in falling asleep but sometime between 4AM and 5AM, I wake up and can’t fall back to sleep. I know it's not my body telling me I don’t need any additional snooze time, because I’m yawny and tired all day. Over the weekend, I took two naps, roughly 4 hours on Saturday and 3 on Sunday, which restored me, but yesterday and today it’s been the same pre-dawn ritual:
Gah, I’m too hot! (tosses off covers)
Eh, now I have to pee! (goes to bathroom)
Gah, now I’m cold! (replaces covers)
I want to be on my other side! (rolls over)
Gah, there’s a hair tickling my nose! (paws at face)
Sneeze! (goes to bathroom for tissue, blows nose)
Gah, now I’m really cold! (adds quilt to sheet and blanket, rustles about, disturbs Alan)
Jarred from almost-asleep (Alan, having been awakened, rolls over and mucks about with covers)
Jarred from almost-asleep (cat tromps up legs and hip, kneads hip into a more comfy perch)
Ow! Leg cramp! (grimaces silently without moving because that would upset kitty)
Leg cramp subsides (tries hard not to think about it or it will come back)
Jarred from almost-asleep (cat suddenly leaps from hip-perch)
I want to be back on my other side! (rolls over)
Gah, now I’m too hot! (tosses quilt onto Alan, who wasn’t cold in the first place)
Alarm sounds. (screams, “Noooo, I had just dozed off, noooo!”)

Wow, sounds like you were in our bed on Wednesday night/morning. No wonder none of us got any sleep.
