Today was quite the productive day around The Hellhole. I actually accomplished something before ten AM: I hemmed Alan's lounge pants. I had to cut off about 7 inches of excess and then do the hem. This is Alan wearing the excess on his head. As proof of how much he truly loves me, he (a) allowed me to take this picture and (b) permitted me to post same.
I was all for going back to bed then, because I'd accomplished something on a Saturday, but we had some errands to run. After that and lunch at Whistle Post, we decided to rip up the carpet in the hall in preparation for installing the hardwood flooring we bought last weekend. I'm putting some "before" pictures at Flickr even though there aren't any "after" pictures yet. But I'll put this one on here so you can see what a significant contribution I made to the project. While Alan yanked up tack-stripping, I did this. Safety first, my friends - safety first.

I think if you sew four bells onto that pants cuff, you might be able to convert it to a really smart little jester's cap that I know Alan could get a lot of use out of.
