Family, friends, cyber-buds - I'm taking a quick moment to let all of you know what's going on with us. Early this evening - well, Wednesday evening, it's already Thursday now, by about 30 minutes - Alan started complaining of abdominal pain. Eventually it got so severe that he said, "If it doesn't get any better, you'll have to take me to the hospital." I said no way to that - knowing how he is about doctors and hospitals, if it was bad enough for him to make that statement, it was bad enough to go right then.

After some tests and a CAT scan which ruled out kidney stones, Alan has been diagnosed with appendicitis. He is in Rockdale Hospital now, surgery is set for tomorrow but I don't yet know what time. I came home to get him some things, most importantly his CPAP - he has sleep apnea so he can't rest without that machine. I'm about to go gather the items he wanted and head back to the hospital. I'll update as soon as I know more.
