This is a funny on one of my co-workers, who I quite like and who is not necessarily prone to mental slips like this.
We were talking and there came a point at which he wanted to make a "Well, DUH! Ya THINK?!?" kind of interjection, but he mixed his metaphors and what he uttered to me was,
"Does The Pope shit in the woods???"
[pause...pause...pause...]
"Um, no...not really, no..."

Either "Is the Pope Catholic?" or "Does a bear shit in the woods?" - he combined the two.

They took advantage of that in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The lead character, CJ, isn't terribly bright, and he wants to know "Does the Pope shit in the woods?" all the time. One of the other characters finally gets exasperated and yells, "Why you keep asking me that, homes? Where his holiness does his business is his business." :)
cheers,
Phil

haha that is funny! I was trying to think which metaphors he mixed up too and the only one I could think of was , "Is the Pope catholic?"
