Always a trendsetter...
Today I have on ballet flats, black capri pants and a lime-green boat-neck top. Many of you may be familiar with this ensemble because I wear it a lot. So, I had to go downstairs to pick up some files from The Boss and when I got on the elevator to come back up, there were 4 women and 1 guy in the same car. 3 of the women had on lime-green tops and black pants (2 capri pants, 1 slacks) and the other woman had on a lime-green top with jeans. The guy was looking at us, I suppose wondering if we were all in uniform or just weird. I longed to say something witty about our unplanned color-coordination, but couldn't think of anything.

I wore black and green today too! But not lime green, more of an olive green with splashes of turquoise.

When I worked at a much larger office with lots of women, we discussed this matching phenomenon. It didn't happen every day, but if there were 15 women there, at least once every 10 days, more than half of us would wear an outfit with predominently the same color, without any sort of preplanning. We wouldn't be identical, but for example, one day everyone would turn up in navy blue - some dresses, some skirts, some slacks, maybe a navy blouse with a patterned skirt, but navy ruled. The thing that made it even more curious was that we had a wide variety of age ranges, complexions, body types - so you wouldn't think we'd all wear the same colours, but it often happened.
