Super Bowl XL ended moments ago with a Steelers victory. I told you so! I told you so! [See blog post 01/30/06.] My gloating has nothing to do with Steeler pride or anti-Seattle feelings - I have neither - but once again, my Parseghian Principle holds true! I like being right. Er, well, I love being right. I also take a lot of pride in my principle having nothing to do with stats, depth charts, completion percentages, injuries or anything directly pertaining to victory, but being simply a weird little stat/anomaly that holds true 89% of the time. Well, 88.888888% of the time. So far.

Wedding progress update: Alan's tux fitting was Saturday. We also got our favours ordered, set up some store registries and started to bug the printer about our invitations. The favours are Yankee Candle votives, wrapped in tulle, tied with a satin ribbon and a tiny silk rosebud. Instead of the normal Yankee Candle label, they're going to read, "Thank you for sharing our special day! Helly and Alan, May 21, 2006". Would you like one? Then come to our wedding. You can have extra if you compliment me on my football-prognostication prowess.

What scent of Yankee Candle will you be using? I'll book a flight for the right scent. Okay, I lied, I can't book a flight because I don't have any money right now and what I do have for travel already went to blogher, but I still want to know if it's an acceptable scent.

We were going to use "Clean Cotton" but then Cheryl found one actually called "Wedding Day". It's a light clean scent, a bit of baby-powder and mixed florals - very nice.
