Just saw a funny post on one of the Social Boards at GameFAQs. A guy posted asking "Anyone know how much is a dozen of roses?" and several people posted back "12". Pwned!

    I had a guy call & ask me how many balls did he get in a 'dozen pack' if they are logo balls...sigh.

  • It means "owned" like used, totally dominated, comes from an old online game called "Warcraft" and a typo by a map designer. A message from the computer (when it won) was supposed to read "[Player] has been owned" but it read "[Player] has been pwned" instead and it's been in the 1337 gamer lexicon ever since. If you ask nicely, tomorrow I'll explain 1337 and 31337.

  • 1337 is pronounced "leet" and it's used by us hip, trendy kids to point out our greatness, esp. when pwning someone. Derived from the longer form 31337 or "eleet", 'cause 31117 was the port used by the CDC to access Windows 95 using Back Orifice. No, not the Centers for Disease Control, the Cult of the Dead Cow! H4X0rs! Oh, no, you don't get h4x0rs either, do you?
