A suspect in a Florida murder investigation fled up to Atlanta and climbed up an 18-story construction crane, refusing to come down. Peachtree Street, a major thoroughfare, has been blocked between Pharr Road and West Paces Ferry since Wednesday afternoon. So what does the intrepid Atlanta Police Department do about it? Why, they send him up a BOOM BOX. Of course they do! You out-of-towners think I'm joking.

I think this guy is a perfect candidate for Dumbest Criminal...does he think APD is gonna get tired and go home? I heard about the Boom Box on the radio and my first thought was, 'they must have said something else; surely they didn't'. But yes, they did. The explanation is they hope it will keep him awake for so long he'll 1) give up or
2) fall off from exhaustion.
Unless of course he
1) turns the damn thing off or
2) the batteries give out.
