Like Pants On A Cockapoo

AirTran airlines has this series of commercials featuring local athletes like Warrick Dunn (Falcons) and Ilya Kovalchuk (Thrashers) in which two sports announcers "call" the action of boarding the airplane as if it were a sporting event. For example, they'll say the same type of things you might hear about Ilya's speed and finesse on the ice but they'll refer to how he settles in to his comfy aisle seat and drinks complimentary orange juice, or in the same way they might call Warrick Dunn weaving in and out of defenders, they call him handing over his boarding pass and going down the jetway. One sports announcer is the typical 'play-by-play' guy who calls the action and the other is the obligatory colour commentator, only his analogies are ridiculous and his comparisons never make any sense - he says things such as "like a glove without any fingers!", "like two peas in a sandwich" and that he's from "up west".

We hear these commercials on WSB Radio every morning as we're getting ready for work. One day, the play-by-play guy narrated as Ilya stored his carry-on luggage in the roomy overhead bins and the colour guy chimed in, "Roomy! Like pants on a cockapoo!" We laughed and laughed. This stood out as particularly hilarious among all the other off-the-wall things he says, and since then Alan will whip out "like pants on a cockapoo!" at any opportunity. We were shopping at Sam's Club and I commented that X wasn't a bad price for LCD televisions. He responded, "Affordable! Like pants on a cockapoo!" At the grocery store, the vine-ripe tomatoes looked particularly delicious, like pants on a cocakpoo. Watching Marion Hossa score a goal, he was of course in there like pants on a cockapoo.

I wanted to get Alan a shirt with our favourite slogan printed on it, so a shout-out to Zazzle, a company which does custom t-shirts with no set-up charge, no design fee and no minimum order (important because I wanted one, not fifty). This company is really cool; they don't do only t-shirts, but mugs, buttons, bumper stickers, mouse mats, magnetic signs, posters - just about anything you can think of with a logo or phrase on it, they'll do it. Also, you aren't limited to text: you can upload any of your digital photos (Zazzle provides pixel and size guidelines for each product) and although they'll do single things like Alan's shirt, they give quantity discounts if you're ordering a large amount. There are so many things I want, I'm going to have to be careful not to spend all my savings and all my available credit at Zazzle. Another positive was that although I was warned of a 3 - 5 business day manufacturing delay, I still got the shirt in less than a week including shipping time. I'm very pleased with this company. Pleased! Like pants on a cockapoo!
