I'd like to update but I don't have anything particularly interesting to communicate.
Over the long weekend, we went to Augusta to visit Alan's parents and brother, which was fun and enjoyable - saw some sights, ate some good meals, had a nice visit.
Saturday was our Fantasy Football draft. I'm very disappointed as I got only 2 players that I really wanted; moreover, those were mid-level guys I wanted for emotional reasons, not statistically strong picks. I don't know why I stink so much at the live draft but I seem to decide (for example) way too late that all the good running backs are getting snapped up so I might as well choose a quarterback, only to find that the top 8 or 9 quarterbacks are gone already, too. Then I check wide receivers and find that none of the top picks are available there anymore, either. I know I can trade and pick up other guys off waivers, so it's okay but I still wish I was better at drafting.
My ankle is still swollen but it doesn't hurt, particularly, except when I go up and down stairs. More than pain or discomfort, I continue to be vexed by my complete inability to explain/recall how I managed to sprain it. I am wearing an Ace bandage along with my shoes. I look like a total doofus.

We all kind of feel that way about the live draft. Leigh-Ann and I yelled to each other back & forth (our computer desks are separated by a wall), "Oh man, s/he just took the guy I wanted! Damn!" I'll admit to being lucky and getting the first pick, so I got the RB I wanted, but my second pick is already injured, Bo stole my QB, and all the TEs I wanted were taken. Of course, the problem with them is that there aren't very many that are dependably good. So anyway, we're in the same boat.

That makes me feel better. Obviously, I understand that I can't have a team consisting only of the top 2 - 3 guys at each position, but I sit there wondering how I don't manage to get ANYONE I wanted, y'know? In contrast to you, my TE was one of 2 guys I really really wanted - Alge Crumpler, because he plays for Atlanta and I wanted to show the hometown team some love, but Bo says he's a solid choice performance-wise. I wanted Hines Ward for the same reason (a UGA boy) so I was happy about those.
