I think I take memes too seriously. I start a lot more of them than I ever finish and post, because I always run into some question that I either don’t know how to answer or for which I can’t think of an answer, so I wind up deleting the entire meme. For example, one of the current meme-trends I’ve seen is a “Have you ever...” and then a lot of things are listed like:
“Stole something from your job” was another one that threw me. No, I haven’t embezzled funds or absconded with The Boss’s nifty new laptop and I don’t even steal company pens, but yes, I've used company property to make personal copies or send personal faxes. Which is still stealing, albeit petty, but then again I usually ask The Boss and get his okay, so it’s not really, but then I occasionally do personal things on company time, which is sorta stealing (time/salary), but I don’t think that’s what the question meant, although fundamentally...
I had nearly completed Nancy’s most recent meme when I ran across “worst habit”. I simply couldn’t think of anything to put for that one. Not that I don’t have personality defects or character flaws - I do, lots of them, and those are easy to list, but a character flaw is not the same as a ‘habit’. Worst habit? I don’t do drugs, I don’t smoke and, while I do drink, I don’t consider that a bad habit because I don’t get sloppy drunk, drag into work hungover, spend the mortgage money on Scotch, etc. I have a bad temper, but that’s a personality trait, not a habit. I say condescending, snotty things to irretrievably stupid people, but that’s technically more of a ‘reflex’. Hmm...maybe my worst habit is starting but never finishing memes. I still don’t know what to put about kissing girls or stealing from work, though.

Hello there...Just cause it was fun not to use my brain on something music related, I decided to post my answers to Nancy's Book Meme...sadly, I fear my list reveals the fine line between dedication and obession...here it is...
451? Once and Future King, T.H. White-Hell I almost have it from memory already
Crush? Susan Sto Helit. Ah, the ultimate Goth girl...
Bought? Gloriana, Michael Moorcock...I'll probably get to read it over Xmas, too.
Last? a three way tie-Post Tonal Analysis, Straus, Harmony, Heinrich Schenker, History of Western Music Grout, Palisca
Currently-Improvisation and its Nature in Music, Derek Bailey
Desert Island...Same as Helly, excepting the Faulkner for Tao Te Ching.
Sigh, I really need to get out more.
You should all come to my composition recital!!! see the UGA music school page for details.
Cheers,
Bo
My name is Juan Montoya. You killed my shoulder blade. Prepare to die.

Bo, thanks for the tip on the History of Western Music Gout. I bet a lot of the great musicians suffered from gout!
Helly, you thieving slut.
