Ugh, what a day yesterday. I had to take the afternoon off, but as usual for me lately, not to actually ENJOY time off. Instead, as is appallingly prevalent in my life, other people's errors and/or irresponsibility somehow became MY problem to fix. My car has been ready for 4 days but I hadn't received payment from the insurance company (not mine, the insurance of the guy who hit me) even though they claimed to have mailed a cheque on March 31. I had to make many phone calls and finally drive to Decatur to pick up replacement cheques, ask my boyfriend to take a half-day off from his job to drive to Conyers and meet me, return my rental car and drive me to Cowshit to pick up my automobile. It was all the harder to take because NONE of this was my doing; I was totally innocent in this plowed-by-jerkface scenario, yet I've had all sorts of hassles and crapola, and caused some in turn for my boss, coworkers and boyfriend. Blech.
My car looks great. I think it's fine. I'm kinda worried about a couple of things but I can't decide if the problem is really there, or if I'm imagining it because I know something happened to it.
Overheard last night at The Hellhole (conversation already in progress):
Helly: ...but you're being all difficult about it!
Alan: I didn't realize I was being difficult.
Helly: Voicing your opinion instead of just letting me have my way?!? What else would you call it?
Today errands were run. Among other things we rented a carpet steamer and cleaned Sprocket-wee out of rugs throughout the house. This will last until the next rainstorm, when he will take one look outside at the downpour, look back at me as if to say, "You have GOT to be kidding!" and go widdle on the carpet somewhere.
Alan bought me an Ayrton Senna mousepad that shows him in his John Player Special, which arrived today from England. It came with a matching coaster. That made me very happy. We also get 10% off at any Crashnet Trackside Shop, which will come in handy since we spend so much time across the pond and all.
I thought I had more to say when I sat down to blog, but now I can't think of whatever other thrilling moments need to be imparted to the internet, so I'll leave you with my usual final thought:
MONTOYA DELENDA EST!

It's just never, ever simple to deal with an insurance company. I hope your car makes a full recovery! So, just out of curiosity, when were your taxes done? How about Alan's?

How did you find "Bridget Unnel"? That's a good one.

I did ours (separately) last week. I, too, usually do mine in early March but with all the unpleasant stuff that's been going on at work, about which I've whined to you ad nauseum, I just didn't have the energy to deal with taxes earlier.
I found Bridget with the "Next Blog" button. I usually just find Portuguese/ Brazilian ones but she was a keeper!
