K'vitsh tagged me with this meme which is for a good cause, so even though my answers stink, here goes:
1. Of all the books that you have eventually finished after many starts and stops, which one took you the longest and how long did it eventually take? I racked my brain trying to think of an answer to this and I really couldn't. Most of the time, I plow on through a book to the bitter end ("finish what you start"). Although there have been some that were so boring/frustrating/badly written or all of the above that I abandoned them, in cases like that I actually gave up, passed them on to others or to the Trade-A-Book and never went back.
2. What great band (or album or song) have you heard so often, you wouldn't mind never hearing again even though you still think the band (or album or song) is great? "Pinball Wizard" by The Who.
3. Which cliché or often cited quote needs to be placed in quarantine for a few decades? "Take it to the next level", "pushing the envelope", making sure everyone's/are we/we need to be "all on the same page".
4. During the 1990s "Compassion Fatigue" received a lot of press, now the media is giddy with "Donation Fatigue." What will be the next trendy fatigue? "Holiday Fatigue". But what I'd like to see is Soccer Mom SUV Fatigue.
5. What percentage of respondents will answer "meme fatigue" to question #4? 76.2%
Thanks for playing. Please pass this along to three friends, and pass along earthquake relief links to your readers. This meme is not intended as a strategy for shilling for one particular charitable organization, it is meant to be a casual excuse for bloggers to link to whatever relief agency they feel comfortable recommending. Also, feel free to add or delete questions. Here is a link to the Salvation Army.
