The Hellhole

Mmmmmmm....I'm thoroughly satiated. We just got back from having a most delectable dinner at another new restaurant near our house, Buckhead Colorado Steakhouse. It was totally fabulissimo! We both had flatiron steaks, which were every bit as good as the ones we had at Arizona's a few weeks ago, but unlike that experience, every single dish at BCS was out-of-this-world delish.

We started with mushrooms stuffed with venison sausage and topped with melted white cheddar. Yes, I ate Bambi, and he was good.

I sipped a Cosmo martini while Alan had a Coke. I had a Caesar salad with fresh bacon and tons of parmesan cheese; he had a house salad with bleu cheese dressing that he reports "is very bleu cheesey and not very mayonnaisey". As I wrote, we both had flatiron steaks which came with a side ramekin of lovely broiled mushrooms. I had a loaded potato while my sweetie opted for fries. We were too stuffed for dessert but refused to admit it and ordered a Mudslide brownie with ice cream to split. It had Kahlua on the side which made it even better, although I was the only one to partake of that.

The atmosphere was as wonderful as the steaks. It's a very pretty restaurant. I took several pictures of the rustic hunting-lodge style interior. We had the nicest, friendliest waitress EVAH, Danielle. She was a big part of how much we enjoyed dining there. I always like chatting with people who seem...I dunno, real, not just an automaton reciting the daily specials. Have you ever had someone wait on you that made you wonder why they applied for a waitstaff job, if they hated dealing with customers so much? Well, Danielle was the polar opposite of that. The place already had a comfortable, laid-back feeling and she made it seem like we were among good friends. When we go back, we're going to insist on sitting in her section; she made an already terrific dinner that much more enjoyable.

So if you're in the neighborhood, stop by. Call Alan and me - we'll join you! And ask for Danielle!!!
